Where is this Playing Card idea come out from?
My hobby is solo backpacker travel. When I remember in the OCT of 2014, when I was travelling around Europe and staying in the backpacker hostel, I can't believe that a lot of the people don't know where is MALAYSIA. I am actually quite shocked and wondering why a lot of them don't know where is Malaysia. They have no idea where is Malaysia even I showed them the photo of Petronas Twin Towers. Some of them even thought that Malaysia is just only a country that full of forests. In that time, I was actually quite sad that why our country is not known by so many people. So, I come out with this idea and I really hope that with my product will make our country to become well known in the each part of world.
Our team spent almost 2 months of preparation and coming out with this idea, this idea is actually from Postcard. One of the main reasons that tourists buying Postcard is because of they like the beautiful photo on the postcard and they hope to share the beautiful landscape to their friends and family. Besides by watching a postcard or just paste it on the wall, our teams come out with an idea, why don't we try to make a playing cards with all the photo print inside the playing card? Compared to postcard, a playing poker card easier to carry, smaller size, creativity as a souvenir gift, more beautiful photos, and the most important, how can you get a lot of beautiful photos of places, animals, foods and local culture with a low price like this?
We actually thought to put all the name beside the cards, but it doesn't look well, and we come out with this idea, creating a blog, creating a QR code, put all the information into the blog, that's why we can brings you here and you can read this "THANK YOU SPEECH" right here, right now.
At the last of my "speech", I really hope that you will like out product, share it to your friends and family, recommend them to visit to Malaysia, a country that will make them profond impact in their memory. Thanks and we hope to see you visit to Malaysia again in the future!
Best regards,
Eddy Woo

Petronas Twin Tower (A♠)
Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the 88-storey twin structure is Kuala Lumpur's crown jewel. Majestic by day and dazzling at night, the PETRONAS Twin Towers is inspired by Tun Mahathir Mohamad's vision for Malaysia to be a global player. Together with master architect Cesar Pelli, the international icon powerfully captures the nation's ambitions and aspirations.
Planning started in January 1992, led by distinguished architect Cesar Pelli along with Deejay Cerico, J.C. Guinto and Dominic Saibo. Excavators began digging down 30 metres below the surface of the site on March 1993. The work required moving over 500 truckloads of earth every night.
The next stage was the single largest and longest concrete pour in Malaysian history. 13,200 cubic metres of concrete was continuously poured through a period of 54 hours for each tower. This record-breaking slab with 104 piles forms the foundation for each tower.
From this floor rose a 21 metre high retaining wall, with a perimeter length of over one kilometre. This concrete shell and the basement area it encloses required two years and up to 40 workers on site, all day and night.
The construction of the superstructure commenced in April 1994, after rigorous tests and simulations of wind and structural loads on the design.
The PETRONAS Twin Towers was finally encased in steel and glass and completed in June 1996.

Istana Negara (A♣)
The Istana Negara (Malay for National Palace) is the official
residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the head of state of Malaysia. It is
located along Jalan Tunku Abdul Halim in northern Kuala Lumpur. The palace
opened in 2011 and replaced the old Istana Negara which was located at a
different compound in central Kuala Lumpur.
The palace complex has an area of 97.65 hectares, 22 domes,
and is split into three main portions: the Formal Component, Royal Component and
Administration Component.
The site where the palace is located has been gazetted for such purpose in 1976, and numerous contractors have been involved with the initial planning. The need for a new palace, according to the then Works Minister Samy Vellu, has been pressing due to space constraints; the Balai Rong Seri of Jalan Istana's Istana Negara where the throne is located had also been used as the dining and meeting rooms. The site is 96.52 hectares and situated on a hill, of which according to Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) director-general Dr Amer Hamzah Mohd Yunus, only 28 hectares will be used for the development of the palace complex.
Construction began in November 2007 and cost RM812 million to
build. The complex incorporates Islamic and Malay architectural elements,
following designs by architect firm Kumpulan Seni Reka Sdn Bhd and built by
construction firm Maya Maju Sdn Bhd. The palace complex was slated for
completion in 2009 but was only completed in September 2011.
The royal household began shifting its operations to the new
complex in stages since 19 October, which was completed with a flag-raising
ceremony on 15 November.
The 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam
Shah, is the first King installed at the palace. The previous king was
subsequently uninstalled with the latest update.
Batu Caves (A♦)
Located approximately 11 kilometres to the north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves is a limestone hill comprising three major caves and a number of smaller ones. Considered one of Kuala Lumpur’s most frequented tourist attractions, this 100-year-old temple features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. Incorporated with interior limestone formations said to be around 400 million years old, the temple is considered an important religious landmark by Hindus.
Cathedral Cave – the largest and most popular cavern in Batu
Caves – houses several Hindu shrines beneath its 100-metre-high arched ceiling.
At the foot of Batu Hill are two other cave temples – the Art Gallery Cave and
Museum Cave – which houses numerous Hindu statues and paintings.
Batu Caves is the focal point of the annual Hindu festival of
Thaipusam, which attracts thousands of devotees and visitors. Usually held at
the end of January, the procession begins on the evening before the Thaipusam
Festival at the Sri Mariamman Temple in KL city centre.
The procession more often than not, arrives at Batu Caves in
the wee hours of the morning the next day; the entire celebration commences
then and is a colourful event that lasts a total of eight hours. In the past
the festival has attracted more than one million pilgrims, making it one of the
largest gatherings in the world.
Many disciples carry their offerings – containers of milk –
to the Lord Muruga on large, brightly decorated ‘kavadis’. Kavadis are two huge
semicircular ornate pieces of wood or steel which are bent and attached to a
cross structure that can be balanced on the shoulders. These frameworks are
also usually combined with various metal hooks and skewers which are used to
pierce the skin, cheeks and tongue. The kavadi is decorated with flowers and
peacock feathers and some can weigh up to as much as 100 kilos.
Some disciples also fulfil vows that they have made to the
Gods by having their bodies pierced by hooks, needles and even skewers and
visitors are often fascinated by the dedication of devotees.
The truly amazing feat is when followers begin the arduous climb
up the 272 steps to the top of the caves – the trek requires a stunning amount
of endurance as they often have to work against the press of the bustling
masses. Priests wait at the top to sprinkle consecrated ash over the hooks and
skewers piercing the devotees flesh before they are removed.

Dataran Merdeka (2♠)
Merdeka Square is undoubtedly KL’s best known landmark. Also
called Dataran Merdeka, it is set in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building
(the former State Secretariat). Directly in front is the Royal Selangor Club
and to the north is St. Mary’s Church, one of Malaysia’s oldest Anglican
churches.
Within the colonial core of Kuala Lumpur, where the remnants
of the British empire are especially evident, Merdeka Square seems to be
nothing more than a giant field with perfectly manicured green lawns and a
centrepiece of the tallest flagpole in the world (95m) proudly displaying the
Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag). At the corner of Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and
Jalan Raja Laut, Merdeka Square is made up of a padang (field) that was once
the Selangor Club cricket pitch.
The venue for Malaysia’s annual Merdeka Parade (Independence
Day) celebration, Merdeka Square hosts rock concerts and underneath the pitch
is the Plaza Putra shopping complex. Meanwhile, directly opposite is the very
British Tudor-inspired Royal Selangor Club: built in 1884 it was the favourite
watering hole of the British elite and the centre of colonial society in its
heyday. The frequent backdrop in most sightseeing photos of Merdeka Square,
much of it was destroyed in a fire in the 1960s. The rebuilt club is still a
favourite haunt of KL VIPs. The low, black-and-white mock-Tudor building used
to be called ‘the Spotted Dog’ in memory of its mascot – a Dalmatian belonging
to a former member. Though membership is open to anyone who can afford it,
RSC’s colonial saloon is still an exclusive haunt and remains an all-male
preserve.
Malaysia Independence Day (2♥)
An Independence Day is an annual celebration observing the
anniversary of a nation's independent statehood, usually after ceasing to be a
colony or part of another state. All countries honor their respective independence
day, celebrating it as a national holiday. The independence of Malaysia is
different from that of the independence of other countries. It was a peaceful
independence attained by holding talks with the British. Thus on 31 August
1957, Malaysia got its independence from the United Kingdom.
The first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman
Putra Al-Haj spearheaded the effort for independence, leading a delegation of
ministers and political leaders of Malaya (now Malaysia) in negotiations with
the British in London for Merdeka, or Independence. Just when it became clear
that the Communist threat posed during the Malayan Emergency was getting out of
hand, agreement was reached on February 8, 1956, for Malaya to gain
independence from the British Empire. But for some reason it was decided that
the official proclamation of independence would be made the next year, on
August 31, 1957, at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur.
On this glorious day Allahyarham Tunku Abdul Rahman proudly
declared the independence day of Malaysia by shouting out "Merdeka"
seven times at the Merdeka Stadium. Hari Merdeka meaning the Independence Day
is the national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the
Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule. In a larger perspective this
day is celebrates the formation of Malaysia. On August 31, 2016, Malaysia will
celebrate its 59 years of independence.
