Komtar Complex is located in the city centre - Georgetown, in Penang, Malaysia. Komtar Complex is once the tallest building that dominates the skyline in Malaysia until the construction of Menara Maybank in the state capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur in the year of 1998.

Komtar is a multipurpose complex and acts as an important role to the citizens of Penang. It consists of transportation hub, administrative offices and not to mention multiple retail outlets. Once the construction of Komtar complex is completed, it dominates the shopping field and is the premier shopping destination for locals as well as tourists. One of the main transportation hubs in Penang is the KOMTAR Bus Terminal. All the bus routes in Penang embark from this very place. There is a nearby mall namely the Pragin Mall. What interesting with both of these malls is that there is a sky bridge that connects both mall and so you can walk to the other mall when you're done with one. It is definitely a dream for all shopaholics, no?

Besides shopping in Komtar Complex, you can have a clearer view from the top of the complex on the amazing Penang Bridge and Butterworth mainland. The view is just breathtaking and spectacular. Other than clothes and goods offered in the complex, restaurants and food courts are available in the complex too. However, most fast food restaurants including McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC as well as local restaurants are to be seen on the ground floor. In Georgetown itself, there are many attractions offered. They include the historical Fort Cornwallis, the unique Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, the famous Kek Lok Si Temple and Kuan Yin Temple, the untouched Penang Hill and many more.

光大广场

槟城最大的购物坐标是槟城路的光大广场（KOMTAR），其全称是东姑阿都拉曼大厦。光大的顶层是一个大圆顶，充当多用途会议厅。大厦共有 65 层楼，里面有办公室、百货市场及餐馆等。这里出售的照相机、手表、笔、化妆品及电子器材，是全马最便宜的。光大的最顶端是一家旋转餐厅，由此可以尽览槟城岛及半岛的漂亮景色。
